7. Trial by Jury

Original quote from US Bill of Rights: "In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise reexamined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law." Obviously this is too specific in some places and too general in others, so:

In both criminal and civil trials, the right of trial by jury is absolute unless waived by all parties with fully informed consent and no coercion or fraud. The parties (including all applicable victims) may likewise agree to mediation, arbitration, or any other alternative means of dispute resolution under any mutually acceptible rules. No fact tried by a jury shall be reexamined in any court without new evidence.
