The Association of Free Countries (AFC) is not a power-seeking, sovereignty-threatening, intrusive one world government like the United Nations may be considered to be. It has no real power over its member nations, for all practical intents and purposes. Its only power is to expel member nations which don't comply with its only rule, which is to include the AFC Common Constitutional Provisions (Bill of Rights) in their constitutions and live up to them. It could help mediate or even arbitrate disputes between member nations, but that's up to them. Its main purpose is just to help liberate and restore free countries which become its members.
The AFC does not recognize the validity, legitimacy, or authority of most non-member nations (there are some other free country movements which are interesting but very few of them qualify under the Non-Aggression Principle). It recognizes that these other countries exist only in the sense that they have governments which claim to be legitimate and claim to essentially be these countries, and some of their people seem to believe it, and these countries are generally regarded to exist. We consider them de facto governments. As we do not have the time or resources to analyze the history and conduct of all these countries, we take no position on whether their current governments are legitimate. We focus our efforts where needed to liberate our member countries, which is our purpose.
The AFC is not organized or registered under the laws of the USA or any other existing country. It would probably not be appropriate for it to do so anyway, especially since it's an international organization and the current countries of the world are not its members. It could be thought of as a voluntary organization under Common Law.
However, the AFC does reserve the right (for itself and its members) to create affiliate entities and register them under the laws of various countries (members and others) to the extent that this is useful or helpful in interfacing with these countries and getting them to deal with us on reasonable terms. We reiterate, however, that neither the AFC nor any member nation is itself a corporation or similar entity chartered or registered under the alleged authority of any other country. Our authority comes directly from Natural Law, via the free will of our founder and members under NAP; thus, our authority transcends any and all governments.
Before we can restore these free countries, we need to first finish setting up the AFC, probably including writing a Charter, and we need to write the AFC Bill of Rights and other Common Constitutional Provisions which its members must use. For this, we need to finish documenting the exact libertarian principles driving this whole effort. This is what we are doing now and we could use some help with all of these steps.
